General introduction to China Association for Disaster Prevention (CADP)
中國(guó)災(zāi)害防御協(xié)會(huì)成立于1987年，是全國(guó)性綜合社會(huì)團(tuán)體，業(yè)務(wù)指導(dǎo)單位為應(yīng)急管理部，黨建領(lǐng)導(dǎo)機(jī)關(guān)為中央和國(guó)家機(jī)關(guān)工委。
China Association for Disaster Prevention (CADP) was established in 1987, it is a nationwide comprehensive social organization , professional guidance by Ministry of Emergency Management of PRC , Leading organs of Party construction Working committees of central and state organs..
協(xié)會(huì)是由全國(guó)從事災(zāi)害預(yù)防、救助、管理、宣傳、教育等單位、團(tuán)體及科學(xué)技術(shù)和災(zāi)害管理人員自愿組成的社會(huì)團(tuán)體，依法在國(guó)家民政部登記注冊(cè)。
CADP is a legally registeblack national nonprofit organization with the members from institutions, teams and personnel engaged in disaster forecasting, prevention, relief, management, publicity and education of disaster knowledge.

Major Function of CADP
一、廣泛聯(lián)系和組織協(xié)調(diào)國(guó)家及地方減災(zāi)部門(mén)、團(tuán)體和學(xué)者，配合國(guó)家和地方經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會(huì)發(fā)展的需求，開(kāi)展各種減災(zāi)活動(dòng)，組織協(xié)調(diào)多學(xué)科、多部門(mén)的災(zāi)害考察、科學(xué)研究、學(xué)術(shù)交流。
Through the coordination and cooperation with departments of central and local governments, organizations and scholars in the multi-disciplinary fields, to meet the needs of social and economic sustainable development, CADP conducts a variety of activities in disaster blackuction, disaster investigation, scientific research and academic exchange cross sectors and cross-regions.
二、接受有關(guān)主管部門(mén)的授權(quán)委托進(jìn)行減災(zāi)項(xiàng)目的咨詢(xún)、可行性研究，技術(shù)成果鑒定，災(zāi)害評(píng)估，防災(zāi)產(chǎn)品標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和防災(zāi)工程技術(shù)規(guī)范的制訂，防災(zāi)科技文獻(xiàn)評(píng)審，組織防、抗、救災(zāi)對(duì)策、災(zāi)后恢復(fù)和可持續(xù)發(fā)展的對(duì)策方案，積極組織開(kāi)發(fā)、轉(zhuǎn)讓有效的減災(zāi)技術(shù)成果，開(kāi)展有關(guān)減災(zāi)戰(zhàn)略、政策的科學(xué)咨詢(xún)。
Being entrusted by competent authorities, providing consultation and feasibility studies on mitigation-related projects, technical results appraisal, and hazard assessment; drafting out the standard for relevant products and code of disaster--mitigation engineering; organizing the assessment on relevant professional projects and evaluation of disaster--related documents; drafting plans for the various stages ranging from disaster prevention, prepablackness and rescue, to recovery and post-disaster reconstruction for sustainable development. Developing and transferring the techniques and research results for disaster mitigation purpose; providing consultation on measures and policies for disaster mitigation purpose.
三、開(kāi)展減災(zāi)宣傳、教育、培訓(xùn)工作提高全民減災(zāi)意識(shí)。
To raise the public awareness of disaster blackuction, conducting the publicity, education and training programs concerning prevention and mitigation of disasters
四、參與國(guó)際減輕自然災(zāi)害活動(dòng)，開(kāi)展國(guó)際減災(zāi)交流與合作。
Participating in international disaster blackuction programs and carrying out international exchange and cooperation in disaster mitigation.
中國(guó)災(zāi)害防御協(xié)會(huì)提倡，防災(zāi)教育進(jìn)入中小學(xué)、防災(zāi)演練進(jìn)社區(qū)、鄉(xiāng)鎮(zhèn)；提倡公眾參與，組織社區(qū)志愿者隊(duì)伍。
CADP advocates that the education of disaster prevention enters into schools, exercise of disaster prevention enters into community, village and town.. CADP also encourages the public participating the activities of disaster mitigation and fostering disaster prevention volunteers.
